FAQ

Everything you need to know before getting started

How are tutors vetted?
Every tutor is personally interviewed by Kirsty, DBS checked, and carefully selected based on their qualifications, experience and ability to support each learner's goals.
Can I change tutor if it isn't the right fit?
Of course. While Kirsty takes great care to match every learner with the right tutor, we understand that the right fit is important. If you ever feel another tutor would better suit your needs, we'll happily arrange a different match.
How often should lessons take place?
Every learner is different. Some benefit from weekly lessons, while others may need more intensive support around exams or specific goals. Kirsty will recommend a schedule that suits your needs during your consultation.
How long are lessons?
Most lessons last one hour, although this can vary depending on the learner's age, subject and individual requirements. Kirsty will recommend the lesson length she believes will provide the best learning experience.
What technology do I need?
All you'll need is a reliable internet connection and a computer, laptop or tablet with a microphone and camera. We'll make sure everything is set up before the first lesson, so you can feel confident getting started.
Can adults have lessons too?
Absolutely. We support learners of all ages, whether you're preparing for an exam, learning a language, developing professional skills or simply learning for enjoyment.
What if I don't know which tutor I need?
That's exactly what we're here for. During your consultation, Kirsty will take the time to understand your goals before recommending the tutor she believes is the best fit.
How quickly can lessons begin?
We aim to match every learner with the right tutor as quickly as possible. Timescales vary depending on the subject and availability, but Kirsty will keep you informed throughout the process and arrange your free first lesson as soon as a suitable match is found.
How much do lessons cost?
Every learner's needs are different, so the cost depends on the type of support that's right for them. We offer a range of lesson options to suit different learning needs, including courses, small group sessions and personalised one-to-one tuition. During your free consultation, Kirsty will recommend the approach she believes is the best fit for your goals.
How does matching work?
Every learner begins with a free consultation, where Kirsty takes the time to understand their goals, learning style and personality. She then carefully matches them with the tutor she believes is the best fit before arranging a free first lesson.
What ages and subjects do you cover?
We support learners of all ages and abilities. Our tutors cover Maths, English, Science, Languages, SATs, GCSEs, A Levels, IELTS and English as a Foreign Language (EFL), along with many other subjects.
Are lessons online or in person?
All lessons take place online, allowing us to support learners wherever they are in the UK or around the world.
Is the first lesson really free?
Yes. Every new student receives a free first lesson, giving them the opportunity to get to know their tutor before deciding whether they'd like to continue.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes. We offer sibling discounts, block booking discounts and a refer-a-friend scheme to help families get the best value.
Can I have more than one type of lesson?
Absolutely. Many learners combine one-to-one lessons, small group sessions and structured courses to create a learning plan that best suits their goals.
